Chester’s Toe Problems June 30, 2007

Good evening everybirdy..How are you all doing? I’m a little sore. My toe is bugging me. you might be able to see my sore toe in my pictures. Mom said she was going to have to take me to the vet man. I hate the vet man. He pokes at you, sticks needles in you, moves you this way and that way…..Oh, it’s awful. I know mom is trying to make sure I’m ok. My toe got redder today, but it’s not swollen. So I don’t see what all the fuss is all about. Hmmmph!!! It was not red earlier when she put aloe on it. She’s been doing that for a while now and it was looking better. So tomorrow, when Mom gets up, she is calling the vet man
Mom brought out the a big round glass thing. She called it a magneeflying glass. She took it out to look at my toe. She know see any thing. I beaked it then threw it. Then mom saw what fun you can have with it. She moved the magneeflying glass over my seeds. WOW!! Made them into monster seeds, Yummy!! Then she moved it over a towel…did you know that towels are made from little tiny loops of string?? I saw thems with this magneeflying glass. It was fun looking at all the little things get huge. I looked at some of my toys, made them into huge toys. Oh, it was fun to look at all these little things and make them huge. Mom was laughing at me cause I kept peeking into the glass. Then she put it on my wing. I had a huge giant wing. Mom started laughing at me and I started laughing. Then she moved it to my footy…Nope not making my footy huge. So I beaked it and threw it down on the bed. Silly mom.
Mom just ask me iffin I was hungry and would like some food…What is she stupid, a chance to eat some yummy human food….Of course I want some. Yummy in my tummy….wait what are we having?? I hope it’s not yucking peanut butter. It sticks to your beaker inside and out. You can’t wipe it out. My tongle can’t push it out of my mouth. OH that stuff is nut right..it be evil.
Off to find out what mom is making for yummy foods

Getting the right Bird Cage June 29, 2007

The proper cage can help your bird stay healthy and safe. There are so many types of cages, choosing the right one can be hard for the new bird keeper.. How do you choose the right one?
First, consider the species of bird you intending to keep. If you want to have any type of parakeet, cockatiel or another long tailed bird species, you will need a long cage so that your bird can get plenty of exercise. Ideally, the cage should be long enough so the bird can actually fly from one side to the other. A bird with a stocky body, such as a lovebird or a Senegal parrot, gets plenty of exercise by climbing around in the cage. These birds do well in a cage that is taller than it is wide.
You should then consider the size of the cage. While usually you should plan to buy the biggest cage you can afford for your bird, a newly weaned handfed baby bird may feel lost and frightened in a large cage. A young bird also may have trouble locating food and water dishes. If you can afford to do so, it is a good idea to buy a small cage for your baby bird’s first few months and switch it to a larger cage when it is older.

Good evening every birdie…how are you all doing tonight?? I’m ok. I get to write early tonight. It is mom’s day off so I get to the comfuser early. Yippy. Mom is in a better mood…sort of. Dad is making more money this week. E-bay has been getting more trafic so he be making more. Yippy. It’s still tight but not so bad. Dad took mom out for Chinese tonight. Something they haven’t done in a very long time and I think Mom needed it. Then she came home and has been sitting in the dark. She has a mi…mig…migraine. What is that?? Mom has been getting them lately. About a month ago she got hit in the head in the same spot she got pistol whipped in way back in 1994. She use to get them migraines back then, for years but then they stopped. Well, know they be back. Mom said she is going to call her doctor and make an appointment. But she don’t know iffin her doctor is back from maternity leave..What is dat??
Did you know that potato’s can blow up….BOOM!!! Mom did that tonight. I helped her make baker potato’s tonight. We put a little e.v.o.l (extra virgin olive oil) on them, some baker seasoning and put them in the oven. About half hour later BOOM came from the oven.I jumped straight up in the air and let out a scream!! What was that?? We open the door and look in…..there was potato every were’s and I do mean every were’s. WOW!! I didn’t know potato’s exploded. Mom was so surprised too. Dad comes running down the hall, wanting to know what just happened. He couldn’t imagine what just exploded. He looks in the oven and see’s the mess. Potato, is hanging from the top, sides and rack of the oven. It be a real wait. Dad asked mom iffin she poked the potato’s with a fork and all sides. MOm said no. Dad say’s dat is why you potato explodes………….he should know, dad was a chef a long time ago. Mom say’s she’s never done that and this has never happened before. Dad tells here she be lucky. Hmmm, exploding potato’s. I love potato’s but iffin they are going to exploid…I don’t think I want to eat one. What if it exploids while I’m eating it or for that matter, after I’ve eaten it. There would be little green and gray feathers every wheres!!! I can just see it now, my feathers floating down, all over the table and Mom. POOF!!!!Chester exploided into a pile of potato’s and feathers. That wouldn’t be good at all. Maybe I won’t eat them any more…What is up with vegetables lately??? They are falling from the sky and exploiding in the oven!!! Is some thing happening to our vegetables?? are they mad at us for eating them??? Mom says talking to plants helps them grow better…maybe we are not talking to them enough and they are revolting against us!!!OH MY, that could be it..they are revolting and getting even by falling from the sky and exploiding. Makes me wonder which vegetable are going to be next……berries, watermelons…I bet it will be watermelons, they are evil. They look tasty with their green skin then you open them up and it’s all red!!!! Evil Red!!! maybe they’ll with hold all the water, then we won’t have any thing to drink…That is were our water come’s from don’t it??

Chester and Lucky Chat about Computers and Chair Monsters June 28, 2007

Good evening everybirdie..HOw is every birdie?? we are good. Tonight, Lucky and me both are going to write this blog. He’s going to be in (). He say’s I hog the compfusor to much and won’t share with him. That’s not true. (yes it is. do you see me writing lot’s of letters on your group or this blog?? ….spoiled bird that you are!) I’m not either, you just don’t ask to use the comfusor…iffin you did, I would let you on it. (no you wouldn’t and I have asked. You just don’t listen to me. Comfuser hug!!) I’m not a comfusor hog……..wait we shouldn’t be fighting that’s not nice. Let’s start this again. OK? (Ok, I’ll be nice iffin you be nice)
(This morning I got up and there was a chair monster in the middle of my bird room. So I growled at it. Mom say’s iffin you growl at someting scary it will go away. So I’m growling at the chair monster and Chester is laughing at me!!) yup, I was laughing at you. You were growling at mom’s comfuser chair. so silly you are Lucky (I’m not silly..So here I am growling at this chair monster. I was giving it “what for”. Mom came in and saw the chair monster in the middle of the floor. She told me “LUcky you big brave boy. Telling the scary chair to go away” then she moved the chair to the other side of Chesters cage. NOw he has to look at the scary chair monster, tehehehehee) Lucky, it’s not scary. It’s just mom’s chair. Nothing to be scared off..don’t worrie I’ll keep it away from you. (Thank you Chester. That is very big of you! I like writing on this here blog…can I do it again?? What do you all think, should Chester let me write with hims again??) I’ll think about it. It does say Chester place. NOt Lucky’s or Lucky and Chester place……Maybe I’ll be nice and let you write once a week. What do you think about that. (I’ll take it!!)Talk to you all later

Good evening everybirdy. How are you all doing this morning? I’m good. I started me own e-mail group chestersparrottalk@yahoogroups.com. It’s for birdies and critter only…NO HUMANS. It’s were we rool the roost, so to speak. I think it will lot’s of fun
Did you know that today was the first day of summer?? That these day will start getting shorter after today?? I just don’t get that, how do day’s get shorter? I thought they were all the same size…hieght….Hmmm, which is it?? I’m so comfused on this. I know that the sun and the moon are very high in the sky…does this mean they will be not so high after today?? Wait, dad just said that the night will get longer. How is this posible?? He also said that the moon goobles up the day and makes the night longer, then the sun will gooble up the night and make the day longer. Right now it’s the moons turn to gooble up the day. Well, that just sound scary. I’ve never seen the moon or the sun eating any thing. That’s so wierd…I think dad is pulling my tailfeathers. Does he think I was hatched yesterday. Well, I wasn’t. That don’t sound right at all. Humans make such silly things up. Hmmph. I’m not falling for that one.
OK, now. I’m going to bed. It’s been a busy day. I’ve been watching for the sun and the moon goobling up things and nothing
