Dangerous Bird & Cat Party September 26, 2007
Posted by Andrew in : Video , add a comment...please?Some may find this cute, but actually it is a very dangerous situation, an accident waiting to happen. I have heard so many stories about a dog or cat that seemed it couldn’t care less about the bird, then one day it’s instinct kicked in, and the bird was gone. This video is a perfect example of how mixing these pets can seem so are most at first, but let me tell you, it really is not worth it.

This statement shows complete ignorance about birds, and should have never been said, to anyone, nevermind on public television! She even tries to compare a bird to a dog!

I havent seen the episode, but I am hearing alot about the recent case on Judge Judy where there was a lady who had over 100 birds in her house because she closed her pet shop. The police arrived and took her 3 children and later came for her birds.
Anyways what most of us have the biggest problem with is that Judge Judy said during the case that “birds are nasty, disgusting little creatures that do nothing but poop”
I find this outrageous (as does the rest of the avian community) and it would be extremely bad if anyone gets that opinion about birds because of what she said.

Alex the Grey Dies at 31 September 10, 2007

Sad news for the avian community this month - Alex the grey was found dead on last Thursday (Sep 6th) at the age of 31. Alex was closely involved in a program by the Alex Foundation and Dr. Irene Pepperberg. There is “no obvious cause of death”, according to the necropsy vet.
Much was learned from the research with Alex and the entire avian community will miss him immensely.
